      In the name of God Amen I Mathew Fetherstone of Leatherhead in the county of Surrey ---know? Being weak in bo-sond [body] but sound in mind –o afford ? thank the Lord of perfect sense and memory yet duly considering the instability and ------tenty of mans life whosoever he doth or may become I have therefore thought it fitting to make frame[form] and confirm the my last will and testament in manner and form following That is to say first I commend and bequeath my soul unto the hands of Almighty God and into the hands of a faithful creator trusting by the mercy? Of my redeemer Jesus Christ and by not other mentor? To have a joyful appearance before him in the Kingdom of Glory whensoever it shall please him to take me out of this miserable world As for my goods and temporal estate when and with it hath pleased God to bestow upon me I give and bequeath and dispose of as followeth that is to say I give and bequeath unto my loving brother John Fetherston the sum of two hundred pounds of lawful money of England Item I give and bequeath unto my --------[brother] Anthony Fetherston the sum of two hundred pounds of like lawful money Item I give and bequeath unto my brother Edward Fetherston the sum of two hundred pounds of like lawful money both which each? Mentioned sums my will is that they shall be paid within one year next after my decease by my executors after named Item as concerning my beloved sister Elizabeth the wife of Symon Hall of Dorking I give will ------ and devise? Unto my faithful brother John Fetherston and my trusty friends Mr ------------------ of Kingsfour? and Dihand Neale? That --- of ferrham for the use ? of my said sister Elizabeth the sum of two hundred and fifty pounds of like lawful money upon special trust and confidence that they my said trustees and the survivors and survivor of them shall withall convenient speed purchase lands of --------------- with the said 250—the neane yearly ---- of twelve penny of anna at the least which said lands my will? and meaning-- shall be settled upon them the said John Fetherston also---- Fetherston? and Dinand Neale and their heirs? To and for jointly? as and behhoose as in above mentioned [viz] to the – and intent that they my said trustees shall devise ------ and take up the ---- ----and ---- of the said lands and faithfully deliver ? the to my said sister Elizabeth and to her vye half year during her natural life and I then ------ these of my will and meaning is that they my said executor and the survivor of them shall settle the same lands upon William -–ll --- son of my said sister Elizabeth and -- ---- charged and made liable for the payment of one hundred pounds to be paid out of the lands unto Fetherston ---- second son of the said Elizabeth my sister to be paid? Unto the said Fetherston and paid within one month the next after the decease of my said sister Elizabeth And for want of payment of the said one hundred pounds mentioned it shall and may be lawful to and for the said Fetherston shall -- enter into and upon the said lands and to exercise ------- and take up the whole yearly rents and profits thereof until the said ------ fully satisfied and paid and then against to ------- to the said William Snak and the ---- And for want of such issue of the said Fetherston L-ad and his heirs and for want of such issue to the issue of every such issue as the said Elizabeth shall hereinafter have of her body begotten And for want of such issue to the --- of the said John Fetherston my brother and his heirs forever And my will and meaning is that before the said two hundred and fifty pounds shall be settled in lands or hereditaments? As aforesaid That my said trustees and the survivor and survivors of them shall pay yearly ? unto my said sister Elizabeth the yearly rent of twenty pounds half yearly by even portions Viz I give and bequeath unto my nephew Francis ? Fetherston son of my late brother? Frances ? Fetherston ------ the sum of fifty pounds of the lawful money of England Item I give unto my god-daughter Elizabeth Fetherston the daughter of John Fetherston my said brother the sum of twenty pounds And unto Jane Fetherston my niece the youngest daughter of my said brother John Fetherston the sum of twenty pounds of like lawful money Item I give unto the two daughters of my late brother Francis Fetherston twenty pounds of like lawful money [viz] To each of them ten pounds apiece All which last mentioned legacy and bequests given to my nephew and nieces above mentioned my will and meaning is that my executors after named shall pay them their several legacies at their several and respective ages of one and twenty years or days of marriage which shall first and or happen Item I give unto my M- Browne of Kingston a gold ring of thirty shillings sp---re And to her son Charles another gold ring of the same price? Item I give to the poor of the parish of Leatherhead in Surrey five pounds of like lawful money Item I give and bequeath the sum of thirty pounds of like lawful money to be disbursed and ---------- at and for my funeral Item I give unto my sister in law my brother John Fetherston ‘s wife forty shillings to buy her a gold ring And the rest of all my goods and chattels not before given I give and bequeath unto my said brother John Fetherston whom I do hereby ordain make so institute and appoint my sole and whole executors of this my last will and testament And I do hereby appoint the said Mr Caleb Mr—brooke and Dinhand Neale Executor?       Memorand The second day of October One thousand six hundred and sixty two Whereas Sython Lsall and Elizabeth his wife hath desired me and my brother John Fetherston to stand bound in one obligation of two hundred pounds for the payment of one hundred and three pounds ------- mon-ths Now my will and desire to When as I have bequeathed unto my sister Elizabeth Hall the sum of two hundred and fifty pounds Now my will and desire is that the said Elizabeth Hall my sister shall have but one hundred and fifty pounds to be settled according to the ----of the will if the said Symon Hall do pay or cause to be paid the said sum of one hundred and three pounds and upon the said obligation Then the said Elizabeth Hall is to have two hundred and fifty pounds as is mentioned in the will to the to the same ---- In witness hereunto I have set my hand and seal Mathew Fetherston Witness hereunto Firhand Neale Edw Londson Francis Stent.
