  	from the Nottm Evening Post 30th November 1882 Stealing Rugs - Mary Jones, alias Lowe was charged on remand with stealing two horse rugs from a cab, the property of Mr William Henry Featherstone. The prisoner took the rugs to the home of Elizabeth Rooke, where she lodged, and Mrs Rooke compelled her to take these to the police station. Pc Pick apprehended the prisoner, when she said she had found the rugs in Castle Gate. The prisoner, when asked whether she would elect to be tried by the Bench, said, "I will be dismissed, with your approbation." She was sent to prison for one month.
