- John served in the Canadian Armed Forces overseas in WWI. It was after the war while stationed in England that he met and married his English bride. It was shortly after returning to Canada with his wife that John, immigrated to Michigan. He was a electric street car driver, a Sunday school teacher and a Scout leader. He loved gardening, and playing checkers.
