I am the daughter of her only child: Virginia Frances. I was actually rummaging about on the internet looking for photographs of their sister, Ivy, who after having to give up ballet following an injury, ended up in "Cochran's Young Ladies". I couldn't find her image but spotted the photo of Bert & recognised him (from the family photo album). I did meet him a few times but I was very young. Olive was made a widow & ended her days in Beach Rd., Portishead. N Somerset. Her sister Ivy lived with her too.
      I saw that you had a message from one of Bert's Great Grandchildren - Dani, so wondered if this info was of interest. My mother still lives so may possibly be able to answer further inquiries. So strange to see, but my son has his (Bert's) eyebrows!
      Actually, I'm a bit confused as to how he could have been in WW1 - the dates don't seem to tally?

We have examples from the Birth, Marriage and Death indexes where people were registered at birth with the final 'e' missing and were married with the final 'e' in the surname. The 'haugh' is more difficult to prove, but people have suddenly adopted it for no apparent reason, although we have instances where people adopted the name, usually when money was involved.
