      In her father's will of 1835 it states "deceased daughter Sarah the late wife of John Marshall"

      I have the answer. It is in the will Sarah, the wife of John Marshall. Sarah Featherson Bass was the daughter of Bromley Bass and Sarah Marshall. Sarah Marshall, therefore, would be Sarah Featherson’s daughter and Robert’s granddaughter. the only thing I need to sort out now is Sarah’s marriages as I have a felling that John Marshall was not Sarah’s first husband and Sarah was not John’s first wife.
      There is the marriage John Marshall of Barham butcher bach (22) and Sarah Cooper of the s wid. 27 May 1803.
      Then there is the marriage of John Cooper of Barham butcher wid and Sarah Hart of Stanford wid, at S. 16 May 1800.
      On the Barham site.
      Did Sarah marry 3 times?
      Oh if only I had time to go to Kent and investigate.
      It would also be handy if I could find Sarah’s baptism record.
      Sarah Marshall was baptised in 1804 in Barham.
