  	From an original newspaper clipping:- Thursday, 23rd January, 1958 LATE MRS. FLORENCE MAY FETHERSTON Mrs. Florence May Fetherston, of Prospect Road, Summer Hill, passed away on 26th December, after a short period of illness in the Royal North Shore Hospital. Mrs. Fetherston was born at Wallsend and at an early age became attached to the teaching profession as pupil teacher at Jesmond, in fact she was amongst the last of the pupil teachers prior to the opening of the Teachers College. Coming to Sydney she married Mr.Harold Fetherston, who was also on the teaching staff of the N.S.W.Department of Education. Later Mrs. Fetherston attached herself to a number of public and charitable bodies in Sydney. During the last war she conducted a stall in Martin Place raising money for war funds and her graciousness contributed to the success of this undertaking. Her efforts, always untiring, and her service, given without stint, earned her a name which will live long in this district. Mr. Murden, M.L.A., the member for Ashfield, and the former member,now Mr. Justice Richardson, paid a very high tribute to her enduring work in the public life of this community and to her keen desire to promote the welfare of the state and its citizens. Mr. Fetherston survives her, as also two daughters, Floy and Norma, who are both teachers in the Department of Education and two sons, Clive of Concord and Reg of Brisbane, Queensland.
