    • He was a son of Theodore Elston and Anna (Bowers) Green. The last name isalso spelled 'Greene'. He was probably named for an uncle who had thesame name. He was born either in 1839 or 1840 in Clay Twp., Hamilton Co.He grew up there and married Eliza Jane Featherston on Dec. 11, 1857 inNoblesville. They moved to Washington Twp., Marion Co. They were theparents of three children: Nancy Ellen (Green) Gregory - 1858, James E.- 1860 and Phoebe Jane 'Jennie' (Green) Lee - 1862. He was a farm hand.

      It is unknown whether he was in the Civil War or not. No record has beenfound yet. He would have been the right age to be a soldier. It appearsthat he died during this time period. The exact date is unknown; but, itwas sometime between 1862 and 1866. The date of 1864 is just anapproximation. It is unknown where he is buried. If he died in Indiana,then he was likely buried in Marion Co.

      Eliza Jane's grandmother was Anna (Green) Featherston. It is unknown ifthe two Green families are related but they both came from Virginia.
