I descend from the Featherstone family who liv ed in Smarden, Kent, England. Would you like the info I have? a GEDCO M? I did find some Fetherstone/Feverstone records in Ulcombe, Kent that I think are related to my family. There is a marriage for a William Feverston and a Jane Milgate on 23 June 1698 in Ulcombe, Kent (records hard to read, could be 1697) (Ulcombe Parish records). I think the above Wil liam and Jane Feverston/Fetherstone were the couple having children in Lenham, Kent ie, Damaris chr 1700. If you are interested in what I have, please feel free to contact me. We have examples from the Birth, Marriage and Death indexes where people were registered at birth with the final 'e' missing and were married with the final 'e' in the surname. The 'haugh' is more difficult to prove, but people have suddenly adopted it for no apparent reason, although we have instances where people adopted the name, usually when money was involved.
